How do refunds work for my event?
Self-service refunds, the refund deadline, who keeps the fees, and refunding a player yourself.
By default, players refund themselves from their registration page until your refund deadline. After the deadline, or once the event has started, refunds are up to you.
The settings are under Refunds on Setup > Dates & Payment:
- Player Self-Service Refunds is on by default. Turn it off to handle every request yourself.
- Refund Deadline runs to the end of that day in your event's time zone. Left empty, it is one week before the event (or the start date if the event is less than a week away).
Stripe and OWR keep their ticketing fees on a refund. If players pay the fee, they get the entry fee back. If you absorb the fee, they get everything back and you lose the fee on that ticket.
To refund someone yourself, open Profile Settings > Payments, click Manage Stripe Account and refund the payment in Stripe. A full refund marks the player as refunded in OWR and frees their spot. A partial refund is recorded but leaves them registered.
