Player FAQ

Common questions about accounts, registration, payments, and playing events.

Quick answers to common questions for players. If you need more detail, the linked sections cover each topic in full.

What is the difference between an account and a player profile?

Your account lets you sign in and browse. Your player profile is the record that plays in events and appears in the rankings. The first time you register you are prompted to create a profile; it is a one-time step.

How do I register for a tournament?

Find the event on the Upcoming Events page (or via search), open it, and click Register. You will need an OWR account and a player profile. Free events confirm instantly, paid events go through Stripe checkout or are handled offline by the organiser.

How do I pay for an event?

If the event accepts payments through OWR, you pay by card at a Stripe checkout and your registration is confirmed automatically. Some organisers handle payment outside OWR (cash or bank transfer); in that case you register and arrange payment with them directly.

Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?

If you paid through OWR and you are within the organiser's refund window, you can request a refund from your registration confirmation page. After the refund deadline, contact the organiser directly. See the Refunds & Cancellations article for full details.

How do I submit or change my army list?

Submit or edit your list from the Army List card on your registration confirmation page. You can paste an Old World Builder export (faction detected automatically) or enter plain text. You can edit as often as you like until the submission deadline, after which lists are locked.

How do I check in on event day?

Go to the tournament's Battle Hub and tap the green Check In button on the status card once check-in opens. For multi-day events you check in again each day.

Can I use OWR on my phone?

Yes. OWR works in any mobile browser, and the Battle Hub is designed to work well on your phone at the table, where you will find your pairings, enter scores, and follow standings.

How do I see events in another country?

Use the region selector in the top navigation to switch regions and browse events elsewhere. Your own ranking is tracked within your home region and globally.
